We are a team of British doctors, surgeons, medical students, book authors and academics helping international school students get into medical school in the UK and across the world. Our mission is to support and empower the future generation of doctors by giving our students access to the right information, from the right experts, at the right time. Our team is our biggest asset - people who know the medical school application system better than anyone else: UK doctors and medical students from the world’s best medical schools, including Oxbridge, UCL, Harvard University, Imperial College London, just to name a few. Our expert team have followed the same application journey themselves, sat on interview panels, filtered through personal statements, and spoken to admission counsellors. What makes Medefine students so successful?
The Medefine Academy – the 1:1 fully personalised mentoring programme
The Medefine Academy is a virtual award-winning tutoring programme for getting into Medical School designed for international school students, all done virtually from the comfort of their own home. The Academy is open to school students who are in one of the following school years (or equivalent): Year 9, Year 10, Year 11 or Year 12. Only 50 students per year from all over the world are accepted into the Academy to enter a focused, longitudinal mentoring programme. The Medefine Academy includes 1:1 personalised lessons with world-renowned tutors, work experience placements (in person or online) and extracurricular activities, all aiming to accelerate students’ growth and support them at every step of the application process, until they get a successful university offer within the UK or beyond.
Beyond tutoring
We are proud to consider ourselves not only a tutoring programme, but a mentoring community whose aim is to boost students' growth both academically and on a personal level (i.e. developing self-confidence and independence). To ensure our Academy members stand out from other applicants, we offer work experience with professionals at top intitutions (i.e. NHS, UCL, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Harvard University) and access to a community of like-minded students who all share the same goal – that of becoming tomorrow’s doctors and graduating from world’s best medical schools.

Events, internships and work experience placements, online or in person
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the university requirements for work experience have changed drastically and will continue to change. Our events are suitable for school students from Year 9 to Year 13 – from the students how are at the beginning at their journey and are not sure whether medicine is the right career for them, to the students who are almost ready to submit their application, our events cover the whole range. Our regular (online or in person) work experience events are streamed live from hospitals in Central London and are delivered by UK doctors and surgeons: surgical work experience, paediatrics work experience, medical work experience, research work experience, and many more. We also organise events focused on the core parts of the medical school application, such as masterclasses and workshops on the ingredients of a successful personal statement, medicine entry exams (UCAT and BMAT), differences between medical schools and interview preparation and mocks.

How our students are changing the world for the better
Over the past 7 years we have developed an aspiring medics community. Weempower our students to initiate an optional project from start to completion with our help and guidance. Projects can range from: scientific research, public health initiatives, charity or volunteering. Through such projects, our students get to develop skills that will be beneficial for the rest of their career, including independence, leadership and communication, making their application stand out. In the past, Medefine Academy students have successfully conducted projects with NHS England, Harvard University, international charities and local public health awareness campaigns. Yi-Han, Thailand
By joining the Medefine community, Yi-Han has had the opportunity to join a wide range of seminars, volunteering activities, and projects to support her local community and boost her personal statement and application. Yi-Han has put together a book entitled “Oh! It’s cancer” aiming to help children aged 8-14 who have been diagnosed with the disease to understand cancer better. This is an award winning project which has made her application stand out from the crowd.

Tamar has joined the Young Talent Academy (3 years in advance), gaining access to virtual work experience placements in surgery, paediatrics, and several other medical disciplines as well as receiving mentoring and tutoring on a variety of topics relating to her medical school application.
